New life for clothes in collaboration with Shopify

Within the Zara Pre-Owned project and under the motto, “you may have Zara clothes that you no longer want to use, but someone would love to give them a new life”, the company has launched, using Shopify Plus, Zara Resell, a customer-to-customer resale platform, where it is possible to buy or sell second-hand clothes. Although, at the moment this is only available to UK residents.

Although Zara is in charge of the collection and delivery of the garments, they are the same customers or vendors who are responsible for setting the price of them and attention to buyers.

For his part, transportation costs are borne by the buyerwith an amount of €3.95 by order and seller. It is important to note that if purchasing from multiple sellers, a transportation fee must be paid for each order. In addition to this, buyers need to pay a fixed fee per transaction of 1 euro plus 5% of the total purchase price.

How to start selling second-hand clothes in Zara

Despite the fact that this service has not yet arrived in Spain, it is expected that it will not take long to do so throughout 2023. Until that moment arrives, we are advancing the mechanics of the process to start selling second-hand garments. It is very simple and is done in just four steps:

The first thing you should do is register and login on the Zara Resell platform. Within the Zara catalog, you must Locate the items you want to sell. Once selected, the platform retrieves the information and main description of the garment. You must add a brief description of the garmentraise the photos corresponding and set the price. It is important that the description is as accurate and real as possible, because in the event that the item does not correspond to the review, the buyer can reject the item and open a dispute with Zara requesting a refund of their money. Once the item has been sold, you must use prepaid delivery and ship the order within the next three business days.

In this point, Zara is responsible for picking up the order at the seller’s address to take it to the buyer’s address. For a better customer experience, a delivery time of 3 to 5 days after shipment has been set.

For his part, For the checkout, the buyer uses the Zara payment gateway and chooses the preferred payment method.. Once the payment is completed, an email will be sent to you with the tracking number of your order and later, you will receive an email to confirm receipt of your order.
