BORGERG-MENDOZA: Why are the big fortunes returning to US bonds in 2025
Eduardo Borberg-Mendoza, Senior Wealth Manager in Gentrust, emphasizes from the beginning that diversification represents the key in patrimonial management during recent episodes of volatility. He points out that better structured portfolios integrate exposure to international markets, in addition to including fixed income, taking advantage of current yields that range between 4% and 6%. According to him, this diversification allows to navigate with relative stability fallen as those lived in April.
When addressing the issue of fixed income, Borberg argues that this instrument gains attractive since the Federal Reserve begins to raise interest rates. Its strategy combines the obtaining of stable coupons with the possibility of appreciation in the price of the bonds if the rates fall later. He mentions that his clients prioritize the preservation of capital over obtaining extraordinary returns, which reinforces the importance of these assets.
