Germany will lower the street light to try to have gas beyond February 2023

We are closely following the energy crisis that is hitting Europe harder and harder. We have just heard German Chancellor Olaf Scholz speak about the situation facing Germany. Scholz assures that they are “preparing for an energy deficit and we are in talks with Canada.”

Some statements that come before the closure of Nord Stream, the gas pipeline that connects Russia with Germany, temporarily on Monday. According to Canadian media reports, Canada has agreed to return the repaired Nord Stream 1 turbine to Gazprom. According to Reuters sources, Germany itself would have asked them to do so despite themselves.

After publishing this news, the Ukrainian energy minister has denounced that the sanctions prevent any type of transfer for gas. They assure that the Ukrainian authorities will ask the EU to review its approach. Nord Stream closes for about 10 days on Monday for seasonal maintenance and there are growing fears that full flows may not resume once work is complete.
