‘El Periódico de Catalunya’ and Banco Sabadell have awarded Noel Alimentaria as Company of the Year this Monday; to Girbau for its digitization; to GPAInnova in the innovation category; to Carinsa for its projection; to Blue Box in the Home category, and to the president of the Sorigué group, Anna Vallès, for her leadership.

It has done so at the 41st ‘Empresa de l’Any’ 2021 gala, held at the Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, ​​in which the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès; the Minister of Business and Work, Roger Torrent; the Government delegate in Catalonia, Maria Eugènia Gay, and the first deputy mayor of Barcelona, ​​Jaume Collboni.

Among those present, it was also possible to see the leader of the PSC in Parliament, Salvador Illa, and the party’s spokesperson, Alicia Romero, as well as the president of the Barcelona Chamber, Mònica Roca, among others.


The ‘Empresa de l’Any’ award has recognized Noel Alimentaria, and the award has been given by Aragonès; the president of Prensa Ibérica, Javier Moll, and the president of Banc Sabadell, Josep Oliu.

It has been picked up by the director and general manager, Joan Boix and Anna Bosch; the corporate commercial director, Albert Boix; the corporate director of Management Control, Xavier Boix.

The director has highlighted that the company intends to enter other food categories, and that its philosophy continues to be the same with which it started, based on constant innovation “that promotes humility and teamwork”.


The president and CEO of Girbau, Mercè Girbau, and the company’s CEO, Pere Girbau, have collected the ‘Digitaliza’ award, which has been presented to them by the president of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB), Pere Navarro , and the CEO of Prensa Ibérica, Aitor Moll.

The president has assured that they are now taking “an important step” with digitization to be more efficient, and he has highlighted the fact that the user will find more easily accessible services through digitization.


Collboni and the territorial director of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands of the Spanish Export Credit Insurance Company (Cesce), Joaquim Montsant, have presented the ‘Innova’ award to the CEO of GPAInnova, Pau Sarsanedas.

Sarsanedas explained that, when the coronavirus pandemic arrived, he realized that they were “capable of helping in such difficult times”, such as building respirators for patients admitted to hospitals at that time.


The CEO and vice president of Carinsa, Vanesa and Denia Martínez, have collected the ‘Proyecta’ award, from the president of the Port of Barcelona, ​​Damià Calvet, and the general director of Prensa Ibérica, Sergi Guillot.

The ceo has valued the “hard work” of the company, its resilience and adaptation capacity, and the vice president has assured that these are awards that will make them more optimistic and that provide happiness, in her words, to the company .


The vice president of Prensa Ibérica, Arantza Sarasola, and Maria Eugènia Gay, have presented the ‘Leader’ award to the president of Grup Sorigué, Anna Vallès, especially for her efforts in gender equality policies.

For Vallès, the entry of women into her company has been extensive and something “natural”, hand in hand with a strategic plan that focuses on people, recognition and sustained business growth, in her words.


The CEO of Blue Box, Judit Giró, among other members of the company, have received the ‘Inicia’ award, given by the communication director of El Corte Inglés, Jordi Romañach, and the Minister Roger Torrent, an award that recognizes the sector of startups.

They have explained that the objective of the company is to be able to detect breast cancer in the early stages of the disease through a device to prevent it, and have predicted a forthcoming start-up.
